Love Potions is a paranormal romance novella by Michelle
McCleod. It follows the story of Marion
who is a human student witch. She is currently
flunking potion class because she can’t make a love spell without blowing something
up. Marion’s roommate Raven is convinced
that she can’t make the spells because Marion has no love life herself and she
is desperate for Marion to get out of her sweat pants into some glam clothes so
she can get into the pants of good looking man.
But Marion has a traumatic past with men and prefers to wear baggy
clothes and stay indoors. Raven
persuades Marion to go out dancing with her and she ends up meeting Aidan who
is a good looking Elf that is guard to the Queen in the land of the
Fae. Aidan has been cursed and cast out
of Fae and in order to lift the curse Aidan has to find and seduce a less than
perfect woman. You would think this is
the perfect scenario for them both each fulfilling the others needs but Marion’s
abusive ex the evil Wizard Eric is released from prison and he wants to pick up
where he left off with Marion, with his hands around her throat.
I found this to be an enjoyable, quick paced, light fun
read. The characters are likeable especially
Aidan and his pixie friend McAllister who has Barbie pink wings. Being paranormal romance the plot is a bit predictable
but there are lots of steamy hot sex scenes along the way. This isn’t the type of book that I normally
read but if you like paranormal romance I would definitely recommend this book
to you, it is only 86p from Amazon in the UK at the moment. I would like to give this book 3
and a half fangs.
