Sins Of The Demon is the fourth book in the Kara Gillian series by Diana Rowland. Please be warned that there will be spoilers for the earlier books in this review.
Detective Kara Gillian works for the Beaulac police force, she also summons demons These are not demons as you may think of them, they are not creatures from hell they are in fact beings from another plane of existence. Kara became a summoner when she was a teenager, she was taught by her Aunt Tessa after Kara became orphaned. Through the course of the previous 3 books Kara has solved crimes, made friends with her colleague Jill and the FBI agents Ryan and Zack and has also been marked and bound by the demonic Lord Rhyzkahl. In this instalment people who have hurt Kara in the past are dropping dead for no reason. Kara suspects the deaths have something to do with the Arcane and the Mayor suspects that Kara is the killer. Kara has to solve the murders to save her name and save both our world and the demonic world.
I was eager to find out some answers from this book after the massive cliffhanger at the end of book 3 and I wasn’t disappointed…well ok I was just a little. I could have done with way more answers than I got plus even more questions were raised. We do find out a bit more about Ryan and the murder of Kara’s grandmother and her fellow summoners however we don’t find out too much about Lord Rhyzkahl because he isn’t in it that much. Boo I love Lord Rhyzkahl.
I really enjoyed the plot and the mystery surrounding the murders I never guessed who the killer was until it was revealed. I also like the characters I think Kara is a great. I will warn you that there is a massive cliffhanger, it is huge, but I do love a good cliffhanger it gets me all excited for the next book which is a year away. It is this cliffhanger that throws up a whole bundle of questions. I thoroughly enjoyed Sins Of The Demon and I am going to give it 5 summoning circles.
