Sins Of The Angels is the first book in a UF/PNR series
by Linda Poitevin. Here is the blurb.
A detective with a
secret lineage. An undercover Hunter
with a bullet-proof soul. And a world made to pay for the sins of an angel…
Homicide detective Alexandra Jarvis answers to no one. Especially not to the new partner assigned to her in the middle of a gruesome serial killer case—a partner who is obstructive, irritatingly magnetic, and arrogant as hell.
Aramael is a Power—a hunter of the Fallen Angels. A millennium ago, he sentenced his own brother to eternal exile for crimes against humanity. Now his brother is back and wreaking murderous havoc in the mortal realm. To find him, Aramael must play second to a human police officer who wants nothing to do with him and whose very bloodline threatens both his mission and his soul.
Now, faced with a fallen angel hell-bent on triggering the apocalypse, Alex and Aramael have no choice but to join forces, because only together can they stop the end of days.

I have to admit that I had a bit of trouble with the
start of this book. From the blurb I had
a certain idea of how I thought this book would read but it didn’t play out
like that for me. I was hoping/expecting
a typical UF book with a first person POV, lots of swearing, fighting and a bit
of romance but what I got what multiple POV’s with a bit of swearing, some
fighting and more romance that I thought I would get. The PNR style of writing did put me off I
have to say and at one point I thought about putting the book down, but the
reviews were really good and my friends liked it so I stuck with it and I am so
glad that I did. Then I got to the
second half of the book and I loved it.
Either the PNR style of writing didn’t bother me anymore or the writing
style changed, whatever it was I did not have a problem.
There is a lot to learn in this book regarding the hierarchy
of the Angels and you don’t find out about it until late in the book so you
need to concentrate. I wish that I had
known more about the Angels as I read but you do find out at the end…..and all
I can say is WOW! Ms Poitevin has set up
an imaginative world that can and hopefully will be expanded on in future
books. We are treated to some fantastic
characters especially the Angels who all seem to have secrets and differing
agendas.
I was going to give this book 3 stars but the ending is a
cliffhanger and it is awesome (I do love a good cliffhanger) so I have pushed
my rating to 4 stars. As soon as I
finished reading Sins Of The Angels I ordered the next book Sins Of The Son straight
away, so please hurry up Mr Postman and deliver my book as I am itching to read
it. If you like PNR/UF then this is the
book for you. I found it to be a great
read, one which I really enjoyed and in the end I couldn’t put down.

I'm sorry it wasn't what you expected at first. I have this one in my TBR pile since its release but haven't read it yet. thanks for the review, I think I need to read it to have my own opinion.
